|06:26 pm - Party recap|
Well, the pool party fulfilled my expectations, and then some!
I arrived about when I thought I would. The collation, folding, stapling and labeling of the Minicon progress report was in full swing. There was a great spread of food on the suite's kitchen counter. Tons of pop, beer and cider filled the tub. People were chatting and playing games in addition to working on the PR.
There were a lot of kids around, something I think is a hopeful sign. I had to dodge several waist-high bipeds who will be the next generation of fans, most likely. That's one way to keep the club's membership growing!
I was surprised and pleased that anney showed up. There's even photographic evidence! Hope you had a good time, Anney. Seemed like you enjoyed chatting with rvrjoe775, fredcritter, Romeo and others.
Was great to see many friends at the party. laurel was a big help with clever signs and festive lights. daedala came decked out in spiffy hair and an enticing outfit. (Love that leather skirt.) drewan and rvrjoe775 helped introduce me to Wizard, an interesting card game.
Later in the evening, there was music. This userpic comes from that session, thanks to my friend DD-B. We stayed up until 5:00 a.m. and, after cleaning up and schlepping the leftovers to my car, headed home. It was a fine party and particularly easy to run with everyone pitching in.

I think you did just fine. Was good to meet you too. Now I'll have to fulfill my part of the bargain and go to the next LJ meetup.
And it's a good picture of you. ;)
Thanks for a wonderful job hosting.
