Expidition planning

Getting out of town for the annual wargaming retreat with friends. It'll be four days of good food, good guys and good games. I'm not doing a meal this year to give another guy a chance. (He's doing curry chicken that, from the sample a couple of weeks ago promises to be wonderful.) I am going to be helping with one of the meals, however and will be doing a potato and mushroom gratin that looks easy and fun. Have to grab ingredients on the way home today.

Have clothes set aside and liquor picked out. Have to pick out DVDs to bring along. The plan is to do groceries, finish packing, get picked up by my friend Fitz, rendezvous with Bob for breakfast and then head out to the cabin. I'm guessing we'll be on the road by 10:00. By arriving first at the cabin, we'll be in charge of getting it warmed up and getting things arranged. We also get first pick of sleeping spots. (Fortunately everyone gets a bed.)

I love this weekend and its ability to remove us all from the hustle-bustle of daily life. We reconnect our friendship and have fun in a big way. It's good for me; for all of us, I think.
