It seems that, in a scheduling snafu, the second shift crew let everyone go on vacation except for two typesetters. No lead. No back-up lead. So, when this was noticed, I was asked to come in early to help take up the slack. So I'm working 9:00 p.m. to 5:00 a.m. today.
Almost didn't make it in on time because I fell into a mid-morning nap (from which I usually awake at 10:15 p.m. or so, it's third shift time, work with me). Ericka woke me up, though, and after some confused discussion with my half-sleepign self, convinced me it was time to go to work.
Got in, worked on two files and presto!, no more work to be done before Monday. Did some Monday work. Helped out the new guys on the practice jobs that got set up for them yesterday. (Wish someone had set up such things for me, sheesh.)
Did much commenting on LJ and some general surfing. Now I'm bored. The good news is that there's only two and a half hours of mind-numbing boredom left in the night (rather than four and a half).
And, in a tragic note, my iPod died. I think I dropped it one too many times. Nice thing is that the good folks at the Apple store in the Mall of America are going to replace it. Sucky thing is that it'll take about a week to get the replacement.
