We stopped by Little Sushi on the Prairie for a late lunch and then went to see Last Chance Harvey at the Edina theater. Sweet movie and two good performances from the lead actors.
The big excitement on Friday was that Tara somehow got into a bottle of Goo-Gone. She ingested some of it and Ericka called the vet, who directed her to the ASPCA poison control line. Their first suggestion: don't induce vomiting. Well, Tara didn't need inducing and had already puked on the floor. In cleaning that up, it left a patch where the solvent had stripped off the wax! Fortunately, that seemed to be the worst of it. By the time I got home, she was back to her old self, eating fine, eliminating fine and seeming none the worse for wear.
Saturday morning, Mary and I took the dogs to the dog park and that confirmed that everything was OK. They romped and played in the lovely warm weather. When we first arrived, there were several Great Danes loping about. After a while, they left and were replaced by Greyhounds. Many, many dogs and their owners out enjoying the warm weather.
After the park, we met Mary's sister and niece for lunch at The Cheesecake Factory in Southdale. Good time chatting with them and we left absolutely stuffed with good food and, of course, cheesecake.
Saturday evening, we watched the recent film Zodiac that Mary had brought along from NetFlix.
Sunday, we continued our assault on the things needing cleaning and organizing at my house and conquered a couple of cabinets, a set of files, a collection of cookbooks and a patch of floor!
Now that it's a bright new start of a week, it's these kind of weekends that make it seem all that much brighter!
