Big let-down

Well, the August peak has come and gone here at work. On arrival today, we have, officially, nothing to do. Apparently this is fairly normal. Everyone rushes to get things in during the 5-day window and then there's nothing left to do right after.

Also, the Twins lost their game vs. Baltimore this evening. Curses. Saw laurel there and met her dad but things went down hill from there. Kyle Lohse gave up a home run in the first inning, another in the eighth and Mike Jackson (just back from the disabled list) gave up back-to-back doubles in the ninth letting the Orioles take a 3-1 lead into the bottom of the ninth. Louis Rivas got a 1-out triple in the eighth but was stranded in the Twins' best hope of tying the game. The bottom of the ninth had the middle of the batting order go down 1-2-3 to end the game.

Also, I'm let down because of missing the big gaming convention over the weekend. While we had about 2.5 busy days at work over that time, my thoughts often turned to what I'd be doing if I was there. Staying up late with friends. Working the booth during the day and seeing more friends.

Well, at least I have my September trip to Seattle to look forward to. I heard from my aunt and uncle out that way that they won't be around during my trip. Off gallivanting somewhere on one of their projects, I'm sure. So I'll have to get busy arranging lodging and then activities. It will be a lot of fun, I'm sure.
