One week down, one to go

A week since my last post and one week until I start the new job! Had a lovely, though too-short time on Boxing Day, visiting with friends and having a bit of music. Since then, have been just lazing around the house, mostly. Teddy, our male Bernese Mt. Dog, has been needing more attention lately and has taken to coming over to me when I'm sitting on the floor playing video games and dropping his head in my lap. Very cute.

Speaking of video games, I finished Assassin's Creed last night. I came away a bit disappointed. I'm glad I rented the game rather than buying it. I definitely got my $8 out of it and enjoyed the main game play. It's set during the Crusades so my history jones got stroked and it was pretty cool wandering around representations of Medieval Holy Land cities. The storyline was semi-cool, involving Templars, assassins, mystical devices and a form of time travel. The ending kinda sucked, though, being obviously a set-up for a sequel. Very good that I didn't fork out the $60 to buy the game but it did eat up a good chunk of the weekend.

Not sure what I'll be up to this week, but the new job starts Jan 7! I'm excited to get to work!
