08:31 pm - Weird weather
As rain and thunder have swept by today, I've peeked in at The Weather Channel to see how things were going. Weird thing is, their radar animation looks to me like we're being hit by a hurricane. (A very mild one, to be sure.) Particularly when I turn on the clouds in their new "Interactive Weather Map" and zoom out a step. All the swirly fun that normally seems reserved for our more tropical friends appears to have found itself a home in the Midwest. Weird.

(Actually, it looks to me as if a big rain and thunder dragon is curling itself around the Twin Cities in preparation for eating us. Or perhaps waiting for a friendly local wizard to throw it a stick....)

Oh, that's just wrong. Our weather should not come from that direction.

Although to me it looks like it's getting ready to eat the entire state of Wisconsin. (I zoomed out a few times.)

I think the wind keeps pushing it east and it keeps curling back around trying to get to us. It'll probably settle on Madison as a snack if it can't reach us.

Yeah, you've got a nice, big, strong Low sitting on top of you...
