09:40 am - Not said to the waifish woman on the bus today Largely because I'm pretty sure she had not interest in what a scruffy-looking nearly-40 man had to say:
A. "Nice shoes." B. "Sure, the dark circles make it look like you've had a long night and you have a small pimple on your chin, but, honestly, with a pretty smile like that, no one who matters is going to notice. So I think you could go without the make-up." C. "And if you really thought the make-up was necessary, shouldn't you apply it before leaving the house?" Current Mood: amused

as for applying makeup on the bus: 1) performance art! 2) perhaps she is bored with the easiness of doing so at home and seeks challenge -- I used to "surf" the high speed line in Philly by standing up without bracing myself, for fun. 3) bet she has a hard time waking up on time. goes with dark circles. Ook. Ook. And you're probably right.

1) Maybe. She did seem to be good at it and had a larger number of products and applicators than I thought could fit in the smallish purse she was carrying. 2) I can get on board with the "make your own fun" aspect of modifying your daily routine. I often stand in elevators with my back to the door just to see how people react. 3) Now that makes sense. Depending on my mood, I'd be tempted to offer help: "I'll be glad to hold the mirror for you." ![[User Picture]](https://l-userpic.livejournal.com/26794803/53954) | From: | jbru |

The bus was too crowded when I boarded and by the time it was de-crowded, I was too close to my destination to be of any real help. Han Solo, "Who's scruffy lookin?" ![[User Picture]](https://l-userpic.livejournal.com/26794803/53954) | From: | jbru |

I'm in desperate need of a haircut and beard trimming. (Who'd of thunk I'd ever utter the first part of that sentence?) ![[User Picture]](https://l-userpic.livejournal.com/48980585/31987) | From: | anney |

haha Fun observation. The bus as a behind the scenes dressing room for non-militaristic urban assalts? Did she have a change of mission since leaving the house? I have to vote for the preformance art view.

See, now that's performance art I'd like to see: Guy in business suit gets on bus in downtown St. Paul. By the time he reaches downtown Mpls, he's changed into camo casual, complete with painted face. Even better with a group of people doing the same. Ooh! Or two diametrically opposed people get on a bus (a preppy-looking frat boy/sorority chick and a goth/punk, for example) and by the time they get off they have swapped looks. Get back on bus in opposite direction and repeat. that would be an interesting opening scene for a film. ![[User Picture]](https://l-userpic.livejournal.com/26794803/53954) | From: | jbru |
