I came home after lunch just in time to hear her side of the conversation about getting her into the hospital. So we packed up her bag with all the essentials: books, puzzle books, crocheting supplies, her blood sugar tester, her insulin pump supplies and the like. We headed to the hospital about 4:00 p.m.
She got settled into temporary sleeping space about 11:00 p.m. and that's when I headed home. The current course of action seems to be supporting her breathing (with steroids, nebulizer treatments) and continuing wound care. Her doctor was making noises about an extended stay at a rehab facility once she's discharged, but E sees that as one step to a nursing home so she's not excited about that plan.
I've got some things to do here at home and hope to get out see her before they move her to room of her own. The hospital is full to the gills, so it may be a while before she gets settled. Once she's settled in, I'll post her contact info as she'll really appreciate visitors and outside contact. We're looking at ways to get her net.connectivity, but don't know how that will work out.
Me, I'm tired. Just tired.
