Lunchtime sushi

People in the downtown Minneapolis area apparently do not eat sushi for lunch. Not even on their birthdays. For fish for lunch, one appears to be limited to cooked or a trip to the suburbs.

Fashion

Bear in mind that I'm just a man and this is strictly from a functional standpoint: pregnant women should not wear heels. Your center of gravity is already shifted forward so the heels just make you look that much more ungainly as you rush to the ladies.

Fashion 2

Goth garb looks spectacularly out of place at noon in the middle of Nicollet Mall.

Lunch

Guinness is a fine accompaniment to a lunch that includes Scotch eggs and a pot-roast sandwich.

?

Origami always seemed crowded around lunch time when I drove by. Who are these people you are referring to?

I'd probably phrase that as 'Guinness is a fine accompaniment'.

Thanks! I was trying to remember Origami's name - I used to go there a couple of times a month when I was working for the Fed, it was convenient, and if I didn't get out of work promptly at 11:30, I was late getting back from lunch.

That would be people who searched for sushi in Minneapolis and somehow failed to turn up Origami's name as a result. Silly searching people. Such people should know better and simply post the request for information to LJ.

Origami is not, AFAIK, the only sushi place in downtown Minneapolis. Just the one that immediately came to mind.

I'm sure Mr. Breidbart can point you at all of the sushi places in downtown Minneapolis worth patronizing.

Happy belated Birthday! Just back from London and managed to back track to having missed the day, so happy new years for you!

Midori's Floating world on the right of E.lake straight (across from Rainbow on backside of Liquor store) is also good, but closed on Mondays. Sakura in St.Paul's is really fun for lunch because that's when all the japanese seem to go.

Thankee, thankee! All good ideas for fish, but I am stuck on the bus and try not to take more than an hour for lunch. Perhaps if I meet up with a driver for lunch, I can stray farther for fish. in the meantime, between davidschroth and Googlemaps I found Origami and very nice sushi for lunch today!
