I've been having a dream that recurs every few nights over the last couple of months. For some reason, I have a cut in my left eyebrow, as if I'd received it in a boxing match. It never heals, I usually spend some time in the dream in a graphic exploration of the wound. Other times, I only notice it when blood leaks down my face or into my vision.

The dream dictionary at suggests that a wound is symbolic of grief, anger, and distress and that dreaming of an injury to one's eyes suggests a refusal to see the truth about something or the avoidance of intimacy.

Neither of those seem particularly apropos, though refuting the latter seems a trap of circular logic. Still, my dream never seems to have no connotation of fear or worry about it. In the dream I'm curious about this cut and explore it with the same interest I would have in one of those Discovery Channel surgery shows.
