|08:20 am - Long night|
Ericka has had a pretty bad bronchial infection. When I came home from work last night, I informed her that I was giving her two more days to show some improvement and then I was taking her to the hospital. Usually this invokes a long discussion about how she doesn't need to go and really hates hospitals and so on.
Last night, she suggested that maybe we shouldn't wait.
So in to the ER we went. We waited, got moved, waited some more, got some treatment, had some tests. She most likely doesn't have influenza. (They have a test for that now. Cool.) She doesn't have pneumonia. She is going to stay in the hospital for a few days, largely because that way she'll have 24-hour nursing care.
She's in St. John's hospital in Maplewood. She's stayed there before for other issues and they treat her really well. She's on massive doses of steroids and receiving albuteral by nebulizer every three hours or so. This means that she'll be all wound up and restless when she is not utterly exhausted. I'm sure she would appreciate visitors or calls if you are so inclined. She's in room 430.
I got home at 3:00 a.m., have finished my morning routine and am now off to work. About an hour later than usual and I'd probably still be asleep if I didn't have a meeting with someone outside the company this morning. I'll probably make a short day of it since my most pressing task is writing up some documentation and I can do that from home.
Current Mood: sleepy
Current Music: snoring dog
Argh. I had trouble getting through. Could you email me her room number?
