09:53 pm - Progress and heading out
Well, the second interview at MHP well OK today. SF came up a couple of times during the interview, probably because I designed and maintain http://www.mnstf.org. So that kind of broke the ice and made things comfortable for everyone. I guess they are continuing their process and should come to a decision in about a week.

Just in time for me to get back from my little vacation! I'm off at 11:30 tomorrow morning to Las Vegas and then by shuttle bus up to Mesquite, NV, where my parents have taken up residence. My mom is currently in the Cities, recovering from surgery on her foot to remove a bone spur, and will be returning Tuesday. So it'll be just me and my dad for a few days. A couple of my dad's brothers will also be going to Vegas for a few days sometime during the week, so we'll probably head down and hang out with them for a bit. I'm hoping my folks and I can get to see one of the Cirque d'Soliel shows while I'm in town, but otherwise, I don't have any real plans.

Ericka is a bit nervous about my leaving, as she always is. On top of the usual nervousness, she's also in the last stages of battling an upper respiratory infection. She'll have her usual helpers around during the day and some friends are checking in on her at night. So she'll be OK, I'm sure. (She also has plans for what to do if she's not OK, including going to the hospital if things get too bad.)

The Blue Man Group show is very good. I've only seen one of the older Cirque shows — the one at Treasure Island... Mystere, I think — but if I could only recommend one, I'd say see BMG. I think they've moved from the Luxor to the Venetian recently.

My folks had gone to BMG prior and it wasn't as much their thing. So Cirque was a good choice because we all enjoyed it!
