It is particularly slow for a Friday night. Usually there is a glut of work that gets dumped on us on Friday night, due on Monday morning. Turns out, though, that the SEC is closed on Monday for Columbus Day. I was kind of surprised that this was still observed as a "bank holiday," but I suppose as long as it's a national holiday, it will stay on the books as a day off for government types. What that means, then, is that I'll be skipping out of work a little early again tonight. Like 2 a.m. early. There's 80 pages of stuff being converted for us to typeset that's due at 3 a.m. Monday morning and other 145 pages that just came in due at 6 a.m. Tuesday morning. This means: no particular reason for me to hang out.
