My sister-in-law stopped by today, as pre-arranged, with my niece and nephew (Alanna and Nathan). Alanna is a painfully shy girl of about eight, I think, who, nonetheless is bright and cheerful. It's just that she doesn't talk. So it's tough to find things to do with her as she won't tell you what she likes, only shaking her head yes or no to questions. She will, however, break into a smile when she's having fun doing something, like when we were playing Cadoo. Nathan, on the other hand, though younger by a couple of years, is very out-going. He jumps into activities and is a running barrage of questions and suggestions. They stayed with us for about three hours or so while mom ran up to Rosedale to do some shopping.
After, I had a lovely nap, waking up just in time to get Ericka some dinner and watch the start of the Twins game. After last night's win, it was good to see the Twins score in the first inning and they pulled ahead after the Sox tied it just before I had to go to work.
It's another lame night at work. Right now, there are 11 whole pages on the schedule. And someone else is working them as I type. No real prospect of more coming in so it may be another night home early for me. There isn't even soup to keep me around tonight.
