Craptacular

So I'm home from work again tonight. Still dragging with some kind of nasal thing. I'm going to call the clinic in the morning and see if they can get me in. Maybe, if I'm lucky, I'll have a sinus infection.

I feel like my immune system is just mediocre. If it weren't as good, I'd have a full-fledged thing and could point to my fever and various nasal discharges and say, "See, I'm sick!" Or if it were just a bit better, I'd not have this thing at all. Instead, I drag along with nothing but the occasional sniffle and a complete lack of energy.

To top all this off, I wake up half an hour ago and make myself some sandwiches and settle in on the couch to watch some TV. I'm catching Star Trek: Deep Space Nine during its current run from the top on SpikeTV and there was a Twins game earlier tonight. So I press the remote button and ... nothing. I grab the TV remote (as opposed to the TiVo remote) ,,. still nothing. I drag my sorry ass off the couch and press the actual power button on the actual TV: nothing. I spend 30 minutes unplugging the TV and plugging it back in in various configurations known to provide power to other devices. I get a soft speaker pop when power is applied, but the set will not turn on.

I think it's dead, Jim.

So now, instead of actually watching TV, I get to shop for TVs on line. As long as I'm at it, I think I'll shoot for one with more than two inputs so that TiVo, DVD, VCR and the Xbox I'm faunching for can all be hooked up without having to play with a switch box or swapping cables.
