04:43 pm - Up-coming plant sale
When I reported going to this sale last year, people asked to be informed earlier this year. Looks like they have gotten so popular, they are shifting venues, which is a good thing.
The Friends School Plant Sale
May 6-9. Minnesota State Fair Grounds, Grandstand Building. Hours will be 11:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Friday, May 6, 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Saturday, Saturday, May 7 and Sunday, May 6 from 12:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Sunday is half-price. It's on Irene's list to think about! Along with the Arboretum and the U of M Horticultural Society.
I will admit, that announcement does not impress me. It implies some significant gaps in their academic rigor.
May 6-9? Is the sale three days or four days?
Friday, May 6 and Sunday, May 6?

Hmm. How much you want to bet the kids of the school did the web page and the adults didn't proofread? (Though it's entirely possible it's an adult typo, as well.) Me, I just copied the info from the email my community gardening coordinator sent out and posted post-haste. I didn't even read beyond the "Minnesota State Fair Grounds" portion. | | From: | sraun |

Actually, I'm betting that they did a cut-and-paste from last year's info, and then didn't get everything corrected properly. If I read my calendar correctly, last year should have been May 7-9.
We'll see what happens to the page over the next week! |
