Waiting and anticipating

We've reached that point in our peak where one wonders why they call it peak at all. Which is to say, we've completed all the work on the schedule and are sitting around, waiting for stuff to do. It's the times like these that are the most frustrating. On the flip side, it's also kind of peaceful and quiet. No expediters running around stressing about jobs that are getting close to due. No co-workers cursing at the computers because something isn't working.

Still, I'd rather have something to do.

Late Friday afternoon I have a phone interview scheduled. This one is for a position as a web communications coordinator. Doesn't sound like it would be as much of a project management position as I'd like ideally, but it would be a step in the right direction. One will have to see how it all turns out.

Then Saturday, erickavan's mom, little brother and niece come up from Chicago-land for the weekend. I won't notice much difference in activities, I'm sure, apart from the dinner Saturday night, but Ericka is excited as all get-out.

I'm scheduled to be working Sunday night but who knows how much actual work there will be do to. Still, it'd be overtime, so that would be nice. I guess I'll have to wait and see.
