|05:13 am - Wait, wait ... zoom!|
I called in to work today at about 9:00 pm to ask if things were busy enough that I should come in at 10:00 pm, when I was scheduled to, instead of 11:00 pm, my regular time. I was told that they were.
When I got here, there was nothing to do that was due before Monday. Sigh.
So I started a Monday job, was given a job due Saturday, finished that, was given another job due on Monday, finished that.
Then there was this long period of working jobs others had broken up that were all due some time on Monday.
Now, a job due in about six hours is just going to go up on the board. I'll probably end up staying until 8:00 am, a full 10-hour shift, in order to work on this puppy. Its odd the way scheduling works 'round here.
Well, at least after a three day absence of any sort of non-caffeinated beverage, the free pop cooler had Sierra Mist in it today. That's Pepsi's new lemon-lime soda to replace the spun-off 7-Up (which went and did weird things like the very bad dN-L). It's not 7-Up, but it's somewhere between 7-Up and Sprite, generally tasty and not caffeinated. I noticed cans of it in the trash bins when I arrived. Apparently, I'm not the only one who prefers soda without caffeine. I bet I am about the only one that simply won't drink a caffeinated one, though.

|10:50 pm - Poor puppy|
My dog, Brandy, is at the emergency vet overnight. It looks like she's doing well and will be coming home tomorrow. I try to be delicate about it but if you don't want to read about canine health problems don't follow the cut tag.
( You've been warned.Collapse )
The good news is that she's doing fine. Ericka is a bit upset that she's not home and misses her terribly. I'm disappointed that I could not make it to a friend's birthday party. There will be other birthdays, however (like mine next week!) and other parties. Heck, there will probably be other trips to the vet as well, let's hope not for a while.
