The long weekend

For some reason, this weekend seemed to last forever. When I got work today, it seemed like I'd not been here for a week. This might be because I slept most of the weekend. I slept through the MN-Stf meeting on Saturday, which was a shame.

When I wasn't sleeping, I was cleaning. I got all my laundry done, even my sheets. I got my basement room cleaned out to where I want it again (it had accumulated a bit of detritus and a strange surplus of blankets). It now as a futon and an area rug; a pillow, sheets and a couple of blankets are all laid out and ready for visitors.

Tried out our recently completed downstairs shower Sunday; worked like a charm. This will make visitors even more independent.

All of this sleeping and cleaning left precious little time for NaNoWriMo. At work tonight, though, we are in our typical post-peak slump. There are 11 jobs on our list. Due times range from 6:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m tomorrow. I just handed two of these jobs, due at 10:00 a.m., to proofreading. They consisted of identical one-page letters. I was writing, they came back. So I'll send those off and that'll put us down to nine jobs. Of those five are to be "saved" for someone who, a co-worker thinks, is off on family leave until mid-December. So, hopefully, I'll be some writing in here at work.
