Hey, it's like real work

Today was the first of three 12-hour days schedule for this peak. The filing deadline is on Wednesday so everyone waits until the last minute to get things in. This means I got to work at 9:00 pm last night. I'm scheduled to be here until 9:00 am this morning.

It's been pretty steady, but not particularly heavy for all that time. I just finished, however, planning and breaking up a job for the board that's not due for 24 hours. So when one more typesetter gets here (in about 13 minutes) I'll be let go for home. Only nine hours for me today.

Still, it's good to see this level of work outside our HTML-only process. Most of the little jobs go through there so having enough other work to keep us busy in our "traditional" area bodes well for the business.

Still, I've embarked on another flurry of job-search activity. This is probably a good time to invite you, gentle reader, to have a look at my resume and offer any comment or critique you think relevant or helpful. Plus, hey, if you've got any job leads you think I'd be good at based on that resume let me know.

I'm still toying with the idea of a complete shift in career; moving to another industry where my more general skills would be useful. (Or that I'd have a lot of fun with.) I've given some thought and research time to event/party planner and baseball umpire. Other suggestions are welcome.
