As the year winds down

A rather slow night at work, but an oddly interesting and productive one. Not a stitch of work in sight right now, but that gave a co-worker and I a chance to chat over some process issues we've been assigned to investigate. She took bits of notes as our discussion wandered all over the place. I think we had four or five good ideas in there, though.

I like having those kinds of discussions and find that they often generate ideas that are quite cool. I need to work on the note-taking aspect of the process though, for, more often than not, I never take the ideas further than the discussion, even if the discussion had implementation plans as part of it.

Looking back over the year, I'm pretty happy with the way things went. Some very high points in there. MarsCon, Minicon, Winnipeg, various parties, people, events. Not so many low points, at least not that stand out in my memory. 2003 was pretty decent to me.

I have two parties to attend on New Years. The one I want to end up at is within stumbling distance of my house. The party mizzlaurajean and davidschroth are hosting doesn't start until 8:00 p.m., though, so I don't know if I'll make it over there.

Wishing you and yours joy in the New Year!
