Lack and opportunity

So there is, literally, nothing for me to do at work tonight. I've already started using daedala for her babble in order to keep myself occupied.

For a more productive activity, I've decided to do some stuff in preparation for NaNoWriMo. I was going to bring my copy of Steering the Craft: Exercises and Discussions on Story Writing for the Lone Navigator or the Mutinous Crew by Ursula K. Le Guin to work today in case such a situation arose, but couldn't put my hands on it before I had to leave the house. Instead I'll do some poking around on the net to see if any of the things I remember dreaming stir up ideas.

Looks like Fred took my orders from yesterday to heart and brought up all kinds of things from my other-than-conscious mind today. I had lots and lots of sleep and I think that was at least partially due to Fred having a lot to say. As if he was waiting for me to be ready, already.

So, to honor Fred's effort, I need to get some things going. That'll mean sifting through the images and seeing if anything grabs my wakening imagination. I also need to see if there were any characters in there. People of action with tragic flaws. People who need something to complete themselves in order to draw them into the events that will soon be spinning around them.

Off to Google!
