  • 06:37 My dogs have learned that the "ch-click" of my iPhone closing means I'm ready to get up and feed them. #
  • 09:32 @kevinmatheny I'm interested in the concept of the Kindle, but want my e-book device to do more than just that. #
  • 09:57 @LizDanforth Who let pigeons on this bus? :) #
  • 09:59 Free peppermint tea is not quite as satisfying, no nowhere near as satisfying, as $4 hot chocolate. #
  • 10:07 One week! I'm starting daily guitar practice in just one week! This is part of my 40-year plan to become an 80-year-old blues guitarist. #
  • 10:12 Why am I starting daily guitar practice next week and not today? It's about anticipation and building excitement. j.mp/5jGLDb #
  • 10:21 @loveUduckydoo But you're still bad-ass in real life. :) #
  • 10:39 @jefftidball I like my Smartwool socks. Wool keeps feet warm, even if wet! I use mine instead of slippers, even. #
  • 10:41 @jefftidball Oh, they're smartwool.com, but their website is all Flash-y so I instinctively didn't link. #
  • 11:18 With @ZenBox closed for the holidays, I'll have to find someplace else for lunch downtown this week! Today's choice: Potbelly in Rand Tower. #
  • 12:50 @wordwill So right. Much better than Your Colorless Cubic Zirconia. #
  • 12:54 I went along with the low-flow faucets. Save money, but the environment too. But new foam-not-liquid soap dispensers in work bathroom suck. #
  • 13:07 @muskrat_john Is there something a scanner does for you that a digital camera does not? #
  • 13:09 @jefftidball I'd love Ignite-like seminars at SF and game cons. Of course, I did extemporaneous speech in HS, 5 min speeches prepped in 30. #
  • 14:52 @abostick59 You have cohorts of followers that are "normal?" #
  • 15:28 'Nation's Pride,' the fictional propaganda film in Tarantino's "Inglorious Bastards" makes me want to re-watch that film. j.mp/4wGObC #

Have you tried using your iPhone as a Kindle? It's surprisingly readable. The screen is small but very crisp and clear, and the page advances so quickly that it flows along very comfortably. I've been using a free app called Stanza to download and read public domain books, but I understand that there is a Kindle app for the iPhone as well, complete with the proprietary ugly Kindle font.

I'm currently reading "Great Expectations" and "Moby Dick." I've been alternating between the Stanza version and an actual printed book, and I'm actually finding the iPhone version easier to read, especially if I keep my glasses on and try to read through the bifocals.
