|10:19 am - Should be sleeping now....|
I left work early last night, having a bit of a strange stomach ailment. Felt kind of nauseous, kind of painful, kind of hungry. Got better when I pressed on it, but never really went away. Once I got an ASAP job into proofreading, I left for the night. Once home, I took an anti-acid med I'd been given by the doc I saw who diagnosed me with gall stones. That helped and I got a few hours of sleep.
But now I'm awake. No good reason to be awake. I've eaten breakfast (Cheerios and a banana), which usually puts me right out. I've taken my meds and vitamins. My stomach feels OK now.
I'm trying, this week, to shift my schedule a bit, so that I work 8:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m. instead of 10:00 p.m. to 8:00 a.m., on the theory that it might be a little easier on me. I think my body might be rebelling, though.
So now what? I can lay here and try to sleep some more, or I can do something else. Like go look for a new back door. Or grocery shop.
Well, I think I'll try an additional application of food in an attempt to induce sleep. A nice brie and some crackers.

I've had pretty good results with drinking lots of water to induce sleep. Cold or warm, depending on the season. As much as I can, until I feel full. I suppose if I did this early in my sleep cycle I would have to get up in the middle of the night to go pee, but since I only need to force myself back to sleep for a few hours, it's not a problem.
