07:06 pm - Wintery photo
Did get up and outside before the sun set (just) and so was able to capture part of what makes the winters up here worth it. Every now and then, it gets so pretty it makes you forget the biting cold, the backache from shoveling and the mess it makes of driving.

It's things like this that keep one here.
Snowy willow.

as beautiful in winter as summer

I used to live right near there when I lived in STP till 85. I remember playing in that area a lot when I was wee... My parents have wedding pictures from that area too.

Besides. It's in the background of my family walking to the car pictures from my visit home in 2003.

Yeah, that willow is in the background of the pic of your sister Leah, if I'm not mistaken. (On the very right side of that photo.) I would love to get photos of the snow on the Japanese garden, but it's closed this time of year.

It's a great photo, but for 34 years I've been waiting for the Minnesota winter scene that can make me forget desert sunsets, and I haven't seen it yet.

(Don't mind me. In the depths of February I generally fall into a WTF-am-I-doing-here funk.)

I think each geographical area has something to recommend it, beauty-wise, but some areas speak to individuals more than others. I don't remember seeing sunsets during our travels over the desert, but I'll take your word for their beauty.

I am sooo jealous of your snow. Beautiful!

I'm glad our asses inspired you and brought you some joy. My work here is done. ;)
