|05:03 am - Made the leap!|
Well, I did it. I signed up for NaNoWriMo. Already started doing the math. 50,000 words in November. November has 30 days. That's 1,667 words per day. If I give myself two hours a day for just writing that's only 14 words per minute. Well within my typing speed.
By the spirit of the effort, I cannot start writing early, but can start planning. So this entry is also partly a message to my subconscious to spurt forth ideas over the next couple of weeks so I can give some conscious thought to what this novel is going to be about.
It has to be something completely new, not something that I've invested thought in before. So that short story about an awakening AI that I started but never finished, the bits and pieces of a novel about a young man infatuated by his friend that is one of the few that can use magical devices, the one act of the screenplay I started, and all the other abortive attempts at this have to sit on the sidelines for November. They can't play. Other ideas are fair game, though. They can crawl out of the woodwork and strut their stuff. I'm thinking I'll pick the shiny one and get started that way.

Re: Very Cool
I've had friends who have participated, which is how I heard about it. Thanks for the support; you have permission to ask me how it's going once November rolls around.
