06:08 pm - Cash in, cash out. Tomato hunt
I received the payouts from my mortgage refinancing yesterday so Tuesday was Bill Paying day. Big ones were getting my Discover and Visa bills paid off. Also got the student loan paid off. That, combined with the payoff of the home equity line of credit will save me something in the realm of $600 a month. The mortgage payment goes up so the net savings is closer to $300 per month, but that's enough to make things a tad easier 'round here on the financial front.

I have a couple of bills to pay that I couldn't get taken care of yesterday, but the amount in my checking account will handle those easily. Plus I get paid on Friday and the mortgage is structured so that I don't have a mortgage payment in August. I'm planning to be good and sock away some savings but also have a couple of purchases I'd like to make that I've been holding off on.

Tonight, I'm going to make good on the fresh mozzarella I picked up the other day and go get some ripe tomatoes and crusty bread. Slicing, little salt, eating. Mmm.

Congratulations! I did a refinancing a couple years ago, it helped. I'm not sure I'd qualify at this point, since I'm still looking for steady employment.

They were salted....

One could grill, I suppose. I still have some tomatoes, bread and cheese left over...perhaps I'll make that grilled bread salad I like so much.
